Tank Service Inc / National Tank Storage operation’s update

15 09 2008

Due to the number of emails/inquiries coming in, I need to post that our offices are currently down until further notice.  Our terminal facility located in the La Porte, Tx area suffered little damage fortunately from an initial report; but we’ll have to take a closer a look once we can get back in.

Our sales and administration office suffered roof leaks and fallen sheet rock inside the building, similarly to the terminal; power is not available.

We will keep everyone informed and thank you for your concerns…

Chevron’s offshore platforms toppled…trouble ahead

15 09 2008

Chevron states that some of its platforms were toppled by Ike.   The affected structures were in the eastern and western Continental areas, meaning they were closer to shore than deep water facilities.

Current reports out of Houston reflect gasoline shortages and getting worse.  My sister went out hunting down stations to report and could not find gas in the Richmond- West Park area.  When we left Houston, our oil expert friend advised us not to let our gas tank fall below 3/4 full.

After Ike, first log on update…fuel prices, power, and more….

15 09 2008

Hi Folks, after enduring Ike, we stuck around Houston for a day and a half but found it to be too difficult without power and with a two month old baby; we left to San Antonio, Tx.

Our terminal suffered little damage from an intial report, but we’ll find out more once we are able to get in and take a closer look.  Our second location suffered roof leaks, and sheet rock falling off.  Both locations still lack power….

Many reports of fuel shortages and little food resources.  Center Point Energy is restoring power starting from the West areas and moving East.
